The cookies we use, and why.
How Kandidly uses cookies and similar technologies on this site.
Kandidly Ltd · Version 1.0 · Last updated 17 August 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on kandidly.co.uk, what they do and how you control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains everything else we do with personal information.
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. Cookies let a site remember things between pages and visits, and they let us and our partners understand how the site is being used.
We use the word “cookies” throughout for convenience, but this policy also covers similar technologies that store or read information on your device, including tracking pixels, tags, software development kits, and browser local storage. The rules are the same whichever is used.
Cookies set by kandidly.co.uk are called first party cookies. Cookies set by another organisation, such as Google or Meta, are called third party cookies.
When you first visit our site you will see a banner. Nothing except our strictly necessary cookies runs until you make a choice.
You can accept everything, reject everything, or choose category by category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and there is no penalty for saying no. Nothing is pre-ticked.
We ask again after six months, and we will ask again sooner if we add a new technology that needs your consent.
You can change or withdraw your choices at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Changes take effect immediately for anything set after that point.
Withdrawing consent does not delete cookies that were already stored on your device. To remove those, clear the cookies in your browser settings.
Strictly necessary. Needed for the site to work and to keep it secure, including protecting our forms from abuse. These do not require your consent and cannot be switched off, because without them the site does not function.
Analytics. Help us understand how people use the site so we can improve it. These require your consent.
Marketing. Used to measure our advertising and to show you our ads on other websites and platforms. These require your consent.
We do not treat any analytics cookie as exempt from consent. The analytics we use involves sharing information with the providers concerned for their own purposes, so we ask for your consent to all of it.
The main cookies we use are grouped below. For the complete, always up to date list, including exact names, purposes and durations and anything set by tools we add later, open the cookie settings panel from the link in the footer of any page. It is generated from a live scan of the site, so it is always current.
Google Tag Manager. We use Google Tag Manager to manage the technologies listed above. It does not set cookies of its own. It only controls what is allowed to run, based on the choices you make in our banner.
Cloudinary. The images and video we host ourselves are delivered through Cloudinary. It does not set tracking cookies or identify you, so it is treated as part of the site working normally.
We do not play videos on this website. Where we show a podcast episode or a video, you see a still image hosted by us, and clicking it takes you to YouTube, Spotify or Apple Podcasts to watch or listen there.
That means none of those platforms sets cookies on your device through our site. Once you arrive on their platform you are on their website, subject to their cookies and their privacy policy, not ours.
Where a third party sets cookies through our site, they also use the information for their own purposes and are responsible for that use. Their own privacy information explains it:
Your browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most browsers can tell you when a site tries to set one. The instructions differ by browser and are in its help pages.
Blocking all cookies will stop parts of our site working properly, including our forms. Blocking third party cookies alone will not affect anything essential.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a refusal of non-essential cookies.
We update this policy whenever we add, remove or change a technology on the site.
We may add tools we do not currently use, for example advertising or measurement technologies from other platforms, or software that records how pages are used. If we do, we will update this policy and the categories in our banner first, and we will ask for your consent again before anything new starts running.
